Introducing the world’s only photography competition of its kind. The challenge
is captivating... and so is the first prize! Capture the essence of aluminum in
design and construction through the lens of a camera.
We are pleased to announce Xavier Proulx as the first prize winner
of the 2012 Alumia Prize for Photography and Design. His
exceptional photographs of the Schulich School of Music, McGill
University, explores the themes of urbanity, technology and
aesthetics and convey both the light-absorbing and light-
reflecting qualities of aluminum. Congratulations!
Bravo to all the prize-winners. Their submission reflect a wealth of
photographic talent and creativity and choosing the first prize winner
was a real challenge for the jury. The second-prize and honorable
mention winners are presented on the winners page.
